IMMATURE PLATELET FRACTION ( IPF )

The Immature Platelet Fraction (IPF) test measures the percentage of newly produced (young) platelets in the blood. It helps doctors understand how well the bone marrow is producing platelets, especially in people with low platelet counts. This test is useful in identifying the cause of thrombocytopenia, monitoring platelet recovery after treatment or chemotherapy and assessing bone marrow function. It is also used in monitoring dengue patients with low platelet counts.
