UNCONJUGATED ESTRIOL - uE3
The Unconjugated Estriol (uE3) test measures the level of estriol, a type of estrogen produced by the placenta during pregnancy. It helps assess the health and development of the baby and placenta. Low levels of uE3 may indicate certain chromosomal or developmental abnormalities in the fetus, while normal levels generally suggest healthy fetal growth. This test is often part of the triple or quadruple marker screening done during the second trimester.
